COFFEE County, Ala. (WDNews) – Last night’s meeting was a  success, thanks to Captain Bill Hagland from the Enterprise Police Department (EPD). Captain Hagland briefed on an upcoming Search and Rescue (SAR) program, which will integrate the Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) into vital SAR operations. He highlighted plans for a drill in September, following additional training.

The program promises to be a significant boost for the community, with roles for everyone. Volunteers will be needed for phone and radio operations, documentation, and plenty of “boots on the ground” for active searches.

Also discussed is the importance of Wilderness Search and Rescue training. Coffee County is considering online resources and bringing in an instructor before a September drill.
