Dothan Celebrates Major Investment with $3.9 Million Grant for Westgate Supersite

DOTHAN, Ala (WDNews) – May 23, 2024, marked an exciting milestone for the City of Dothan and Houston County. This morning, the Wiregrass delegation of state legislators presented a $3.9 million check to the Industrial Development Board of Dothan. This significant SEEDS Funding will be utilized to develop the new Westgate Supersite, a project set to transform the local economy.

The Westgate Supersite, spanning over 400 acres, aims to attract large manufacturing companies looking to expand or relocate to Alabama. The development of this industrial site is expected to boost the region’s economic appeal, creating new opportunities for growth and job creation.

The check presentation ceremony was graced by prominent figures, including Alabama Department of Commerce Secretary Ellen McNair, EDAA Executive Director Jim Searcy, Mayor Mark Saliba, Houston County Chairman Brandon Shoupe, along with City and County Commissioners, and Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce representatives.
