Deputy Pursues Suspect on Red Dirt Bike, Uncovering Drugs and Paraphernalia

Holmes County – (WDNews) On May 20, 2024, a deputy made an attempt to stop a red dirt bike at the intersection of Hwy 173 and Bethel Rd. The driver, later identified as Jonah Taylor, refused to comply with the deputy’s instructions, which led to a pursuit.

The pursuit ensued until Taylor decided to enter a field off Underwood Rd. in an attempt to escape on foot. However, law enforcement officers quickly apprehended him without any further incident.

During a subsequent search of Taylor’s backpack, authorities discovered a significant amount of illegal substances. The items found included methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of his actions, Jonah Taylor now faces multiple charges, including fleeing and attempting to elude, reckless driving, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
