CDC: New Regulations for Dogs Entering the U.S. Effective August 1

Wiregrass – (WDNews) Starting August 1, new regulations will apply to all dogs entering the United States, including those returning to the country. These rules are designed to ensure the health and safety of both pets and people.

Under the new guidelines, all dogs must:

– Be healthy upon arrival

– Be at least 6 months old

– Be microchipped

– Be accompanied by a CDC Dog Import Form receipt and required vaccination and veterinary documents

Additional requirements may depend on where the dog has been in the last six months and whether the dog was vaccinated in the United States.
