Vehicle Collision in Panama City Involving Police Cruiser Leaves Bicyclist Critically Injured

Panama City – (WDNews) On Sunday night at 10:02 p.m., a series of collisions occurred on 11th St. and Macarthur Ave. in Panama City, involving a vehicle, a police cruiser, a bicyclist, and a local business.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident unfolded when a driver attempted to cross 11th St. and entered the path of a Panama City Police cruiser, resulting in a collision. The force of the impact caused the police vehicle to strike a bicyclist and subsequently collide with Quality Hair Works, a nearby business.

The bicyclist sustained critical injuries as a result of the collision. Both the driver of the vehicle, a 65-year-old from Panama City, and the police officer involved sustained minor injuries.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine the sequence of events and any contributing factors.
