Dothan Man Killed in Tragic Shooting Incident: Suspect in Custody

Blakley – (WDnews) On Saturday, May 4th, a distressing event as gunshots rang out in an open lot between North Main St. and North Ave. The Blakely Police Department quickly responded to the scene following reports of gunfire and an individual in need of urgent medical attention.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Escondarious Pinkney, a 23-year-old resident of Dothan, AL, gravely wounded by multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical intervention and transportation to Early Memorial Hospital, Pinkney tragically succumbed to his injuries.

In a display of law enforcement cooperation, a suspect was promptly identified. At approximately 2:00 am, Antwain Thornton, 32, from Blakely, Ga was apprehended. Thornton, now in custody at the Early County Jail, faces a charge of murder. As the investigation unfolds, additional charges related to assault and weapons violations are anticipated in the days to come.
