High-Speed Chase Ends in Wreck Near Madrid

Dothan – (WDNews) Early this morning, a routine patrol turned into a high-speed chase as a Officer attempted to stop a vehicle for erratic driving near Denco Auction on South Oates Street. When the officer activated the lights, the driver accelerated, initiating the pursuit.

The chase reached dangerous speeds of 95 to 100 mph as it headed southbound towards Harden Road in Madrid. The driver lost control, resulting in a wreck.

Assistance swiftly arrived from Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Sheriff Valenza, who responded to support the lone officer. Major Rafferty’s unmarked vehicle was struck by the fleeing driver just moments before the crash occurred.

Emergency services were dispatched to assess the situation, although the driver was uncooperative.

Ultimately, the driver was apprehended and taken into custody, bringing the dangerous pursuit to an end.
