$3 Million Bond! ADOC Arrests Suspect for Trafficking Contraband in Elmore County Facility

Elmore County – (WDnews) In a continued effort to curb illegal contraband, the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) apprehended a suspect on Saturday, April 27, in Elmore County. Identified as Keante Jamal Shipp, the individual was detained by the Staton K9 team following a trespassing alert at approximately 9:24 p.m.

After locating Shipp, tracking dogs were deployed, leading to the discovery of multiple packages wrapped in duct tape containing illicit items. Among the seized items were 7.2 pounds of cannabis, over 56 grams of synthetic cathinone (commonly known as bath salts), 30 cell phones, 24 charging cords, and 17 charging blocks.

Shipp faces several charges, including trafficking marijuana, promoting prison contraband I & II, and criminal trespassing. Currently held at the Elmore County Jail, Shipp’s bond has been set at $3,036,000.
