Dothan, Ala. (WDNews)– Dothan City Schools is stepping into an exciting new era of visual identity with the introduction of charming wolf pup mascots and logos for all 10 elementary schools. Collaborating with Rhodes Branding, based in Columbia, SC, the district embarked on a journey to capture the essence of each school’s spirit while fostering a sense of unity under the Wolfpack banner.

Over the past months, a collaborative effort between Dothan City Schools and Rhodes Branding has resulted in the creation of unique logos, each reflecting the personality of its respective elementary school. Through surveys and creative voting exercises involving students, teachers, and staff, the community actively contributed to the development of these new unique school logo’s.

Superintendent Dr. Dennis Coe expressed his pride in the district’s transformation, highlighting the student-driven inspiration behind the concept. “This is another glowing example of how we are coming together as a district and community to provide an education system that everyone in Dothan can be proud of,” Dr. Coe remarked.

The culmination of this branding endeavor was marked by a lively celebration on Friday, April 26. Dubbed the “Traveling Pep Rally and Celebration,” the event saw the Dothan High School cheer team and members of the Pride of the Wolfpack Marching Band traveling to each elementary school aboard the district’s bus, fondly known as “Wolf Force One.”

Meagan Dorsey, the Public Relations Officer at Dothan City Schools, shared her excitement about the event, describing it as a whirlwind of joy and magic. “The involvement of the high school students in welcoming the youngest members into our wolfpack community was truly heartwarming,” Dorsey said. “The atmosphere was electrifying, as students discovered their connection with older members and enjoyed the festivities alongside the band and cheerleaders.”

The 10 elementary school brands, while distinct in their individuality, form a cohesive visual narrative, communicating each school’s unique identity through logos, fonts, and colors. This initiative not only celebrates the rich diversity within the Dothan City Schools community but also fosters a sense of pride and belonging among students, staff, and the wider general public.
