Nike, the renowned trendsetter in sportswear, is gearing up to downsize its workforce at its Oregon headquarters. As part of its strategic initiative to streamline operations and reduce costs, the company is planning to lay off approximately 2 percent of its employees, totaling around 740 individuals. State officials have been informed that these reductions will be implemented before June 28th.

This decision aligns with Nike’s broader three-year plan, unveiled in December, aimed at slashing expenses by a whopping $2 billion. Despite its dominant presence in the athletic apparel market, Nike is bracing for a projected decline in revenue for the fiscal year 2025. This move underscores the company’s commitment to adapt to evolving market dynamics while maintaining its competitive edge.
