Mobile and Montgomery Mayors Take Action Regarding Police Chiefs

Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson and Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed made significant moves on Friday regarding their respective police chiefs.

Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson announced plans to recommend the removal of Police Chief Paul Prine, while Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed accepted the resignation of Police Chief Darryl Albert.

Chief Paul Prine has served as Mobile’s police chief since October 2021, accumulating 27 years of experience within the Mobile Police Department. Meanwhile, Chief Darryl Albert has been at the helm of Montgomery’s police force since March 2022, boasting over 30 years of law enforcement experience.

The decisions come after periods of scrutiny and reflection, signaling potential changes in leadership within these cities’ law enforcement agencies.
