‘The Shining’, Historic Oregon Hotel, Suffered Fire

A fire broke out Thursday night at the Timberline Lodge in Oregon, a historic hotel known to movie buffs as the exterior of the Overlook Hotel from Stanley Kubrick’s iconic film, “The Shining.”

According to Clackamas County fire officials, the blaze started in the attic sometime before 9:30 p.m. Fire crews swiftly responded to the scene to contain the fire, which was confined to the attic and the roof.

Fortunately, everyone was safely evacuated, and there were no reported injuries. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, while fans of the hotel and the film await updates on the extent of the damage to this historic landmark.
