Dothan’s Downtown Cleanup Week: April 1-6

Dothan – In an effort to spruce up its downtown area, the City of Dothan is gearing up for a week-long cleanup initiative from April 1-6, 2024. Local businesses situated in the downtown vicinity are urged to participate by tidying up their properties and disposing of unwanted items, which will be collected by the City’s Environmental Services division at no cost.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 6, as Dothan residents are invited to take advantage of a complimentary service to dispose of various unwanted items, including old electronics, computers, tires, batteries, and household hazardous waste such as greases, oils, paints, and pesticides. Drop-off stations will be operational from 8:00 a.m. until noon at the municipal parking lot located at the corner of N. Cherry Street and E. Adams Street, across from the Dothan-Houston County Emergency Operations Center. To ensure proper disposal, kindly label greases, oils, paints, and pesticides for the staff’s convenience and safety.

Throughout the remainder of April, citizens are encouraged to place additional unwanted items at their curbside on regular trash pick-up days, as Dothan’s Environmental Services division will collect these items free of charge. This includes items like old furniture and appliances.

Let’s band together to maintain the cleanliness of our city by participating in these activities! Remember, there are no volunteer activities scheduled; your contribution to keeping Dothan clean is all that’s needed.
