On Tuesday the state house passed a bill that would further restrict the use of cell phones while driving.  Currently it is against the law in Alabama to text and drive.  The new measure would also make it illegal to hold a cell phone while driving.  If Governor Ivy signs the bill into law, police would issue warnings for the first year.
