A grand jury has decided not to bring charges against a former Elba High School secretary for violating the School Employee Sex Act. In 2021 Martha Pope was accused of having sexual relations with a student under the age of 19. Coffee County D-A James Tarbox told WDHN that although the case will not go any further, his office does not believe Pope is cleared of wrongdoing.
