GENEVA, Ala. (WDNews) — A longtime Geneva City Schools educator who continued serving children even after retirement has died following a short illness, according to the school system.
Geneva City Schools announced the passing of Jan Sullivan, who spent many years serving students at James A. Mulkey Elementary School as a classroom teacher.
According to the school system, Sullivan retired a few years ago but later returned to Mulkey Elementary to work as a contract interventionist.
“Mrs. Sullivan touched the lives of countless students, families, and colleagues throughout her years with Geneva City Schools,” the school system said. “Her dedication, kindness, and love for her students will always be remembered.”
The school system is asking the community to remember Sullivan’s loved ones and the school community.
“Please keep Mrs. Sullivan’s family, friends, and our Mulkey Elementary and Geneva City Schools families in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
