DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Wallace Community College-Dothan will host a free workshop aimed at helping people better understand and use artificial intelligence in everyday life.
The AI Community Caravan workshop will be held Thursday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m. at the Community Enrichment Center on the Wallace Campus in Dothan.
The 90-minute session is free and open to the community. No technical experience is required.
The workshop will explain AI in simple terms, including what it is, where people may already encounter it and how it can be used safely and responsibly.
Participants will also learn how to write more effective prompts and explore free AI tools that can help with drafting emails, brainstorming ideas, organizing information and creating content.
The presentation will focus on four habits for responsible AI use: protecting personal information, checking important facts, recognizing possible bias and keeping human judgment at the center of decisions.
Attendees will also participate in a hands-on prompt-writing exercise and receive strategies they can begin using immediately.
Technology is not required. Those attending may bring a laptop, tablet or cellphone if they choose.
The workshop will be held at the Community Enrichment Center, Building 502, at Wallace Community College, 1141 Wallace Drive in Dothan.
