Dothan Declares $90K City Rebranding Project

DOTHAN, Ala. — The City of Dothan is considering spending nearly $90,000 on a comprehensive rebranding project that would include a new identity for the city and a name change for Dothan Leisure Services.

According to a resolution before the Dothan Board of Commissioners, the city is considering an agreement with Slate Communications for an amount not to exceed $89,840.

The project would include rebranding the City of Dothan and transitioning Dothan Leisure Services to Dothan Parks and Recreation.

The agreement calls for Slate Communications to develop updated brand identities, messaging and other related branding materials.

Under the proposed resolution, $89,840 would be appropriated in fiscal year 2026 from the city’s General Fund for the professional services.

The funding would come through an increase to the General Fund’s fund balance, according to the resolution.

The proposal has passed and the cities plans begin immediately.
