DALE COUNTY, Ala. (WDNews) — According to the Dale County Sheriff’s Office, K-9 Jett has been equipped with a ballistic vest thanks to a donation from Brady’s K9 Fund.
The sheriff’s office thanked the nonprofit organization, writing, “Our sincere thanks to Brady’s K9 Fund for equipping K-9 Jett with a ballistic vest. Because of your generosity, our loyal partner is better protected while serving the citizens of Dale County. We are truly grateful!”
Brady’s K9 Fund is a nonprofit organization based in Bradenton, Florida, that provides mission-ready ballistic vests to police and military working dogs across the United States. Founded in 2018 by Brady S., who was 8 years old at the time, the organization was created after he learned that many K-9 officers did not have the same protective body armor as their human partners.
According to Brady’s K9 Fund, its mission is to ensure working K-9s are protected while serving their communities. Since its founding, the organization has raised more than $1.6 million and has provided ballistic vests to more than 1,800 K-9s in all 50 states.
In introducing K-9 Jett, Brady’s K9 Fund said, “Meet Jett! Jett enjoys chasing balls and of course…squirrels. He always loves a good tug toy or nap on the couch with his family. Playing in water? Definitely loves it! But, baths? No love for that. One of his favorite things to do is play with the tiny humans in his home. Jett is a goofy boy when off the clock, but he’s all business when it comes to work!”
