DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Southeast Alabama Community Theatre has announced its 2026-2027 season, featuring 11 productions that span classic musicals, family favorites, dramatic works and youth productions. The lineup includes what SEACT calls a historic double-bill presentation of two Pulitzer Prize-winning plays.
According to SEACT, the season begins in September and continues through June 2027 with performances at the Cultural Arts Center and the Dothan Opera House.
The Main Stage season opens with Stephen Sondheim’s Company Sept. 16-19, directed by Ron Devane. The holiday production, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, follows Dec. 3-5 under the direction of Brianna Lewis.
The centerpiece of the season comes in February with a repertory presentation of To Kill a Mockingbird and August Wilson’s Fences. SEACT said the pairing marks a bold and historic production, bringing together two landmark works that explore race, justice and the American experience. To Kill a Mockingbird will be directed by Michael Clardy, while Fences will be directed by Tyreece Mayo. Audiences can purchase tickets for each production individually or receive a discount when attending both.
The Main Stage season concludes April 28-May 1 with Michael Frayn’s comedy Noises Off, directed by Danny and Mary Helen Richards.
SEACT’s Education Stage will feature Sleepy Hollow in October, Hadestown: Teen Edition in March at the Dothan Opera House, and Seussical JR. in June.
The SEACT Studio series includes a dramatic reading of Ken Ludwig’s Dear Jack, Dear Louise in November and a February competition showcase centered around Tennessee Williams’ This Property Is Condemned.
In addition to announcing the season, SEACT said memberships and season tickets are now on sale. The organization’s annual membership drive runs through Sept. 30, with donations serving as the primary source of funding for productions and education programs. Memberships begin at $75 and include benefits such as free admission to select performances, access to season tickets and priority seating.
SEACT also highlighted its year-round education programs, which include acting, vocal training and dance classes for students of all ages and experience levels.
