DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Community members can enjoy dinner while supporting a great cause during the annual Tip-A-Cop fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse in Dothan on Thursday, July 30.
According to the Dothan Police Department, officers will trade their patrol duties for serving tables from 3 to 9 p.m. to help raise money for Special Olympics Alabama.
The fundraiser is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, with donations benefiting athletes across Alabama by helping provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
The event will be held at 3730 Montgomery Highway Dothan Texas Roadhouse, where diners will have the opportunity to support the cause through donations while enjoying their meal.
“Come show everyone why Dothan is the BestCommunityEver!” the Dothan Police Department said in its announcement.
Those unable to attend in person can also make a donation using the QR code provided by event organizers.
