DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — According to Southeast Health, the Medical Center has again been recognized by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for its commitment to providing high-quality stroke care.
Southeast Health received the Get With The Guidelines Target: Stroke 2026 Honor Roll Elite Gold Plus award, along with the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll recognition. The awards recognize hospitals that consistently follow nationally recognized, research-based guidelines for stroke treatment.
According to Southeast Health, the Medical Center is one of only four Comprehensive Stroke Centers in Alabama and remains committed to providing patients with advanced, evidence-based stroke care.
“The Medical Center is committed to continuing to provide the most advanced stroke care in the region,” said Cari Zhang, associate chief nursing officer at Southeast Health. “We are proud of our skilled multidisciplinary stroke team of physicians, nurses, technologists and pharmacists who are committed to providing our patients with quality 24/7 stroke care in a safe environment.”
Get With The Guidelines is the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association’s hospital-based quality improvement program designed to help hospitals deliver the latest research-based stroke care. The program aims to improve patient outcomes, reduce disability and save lives through consistent use of evidence-based treatment guidelines.
