ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDNews) — The Enterprise Fire Department has expanded its emergency response capabilities with the addition of a new E-ONE ladder truck and a new E-ONE fire engine as the city continues to grow.
According to the City of Enterprise, the new apparatus are additions to the department’s fleet and are not replacing existing vehicles. Officials said the purchases support the department’s long-term apparatus replacement and fleet management plan, developed in coordination with the Enterprise City Council to ensure reliable emergency response capabilities now and into the future.
“The addition of these two apparatus strengthens our ability to serve the citizens of Enterprise while continuing to build a fleet that supports the growth of our community,” Fire Chief Christopher Davis said. “These vehicles represent a continued investment in both our personnel and our operational readiness.”
Both the fire engine and ladder truck were manufactured by E-ONE in Ocala, Florida. The fire engine cost approximately $790,370, while the ladder truck cost approximately $1,154,000. The request to move forward with funding was presented to and approved by the Enterprise City Council in May 2025 as part of the department’s long-term fleet management and capital improvement planning process.
Funding for the purchases was provided through a combination of the city’s Fire Protection Service Fee, which supports fire protection and emergency medical services, along with additional funding from the General Fund.
According to the city, the investment is intended to improve operational readiness, strengthen emergency response capabilities and ensure firefighters have reliable equipment to safely and effectively serve the community.
“These apparatus ensure our firefighters have the tools they need to respond effectively and safely to emergencies,” Davis said. “As Enterprise continues to grow, it is essential that our department continues to grow alongside it in both staffing and equipment.”
Both the ladder truck and fire engine will enter service once they are fully outfitted and personnel have completed the required training.
