ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDNews) — Traffic has been shifted onto a newly constructed section of County Road 606 as work continues on the Enterprise Municipal Airport expansion project, according to the City of Enterprise.
City officials said construction crews have completed the final connection to the new roadway alignment, relocating a portion of County Road 606 about 1,100 feet north of its previous connection with Boll Weevil Circle.
While construction will continue in the area over the coming weeks, motorists are now traveling on the newly completed roadway.
According to the city, drivers should use extra caution as they adjust to the new traffic pattern. New traffic control signs have been installed along Boll Weevil Circle and County Road 606 to help guide motorists through the transition. Drivers are encouraged to reduce their speed, remain alert and follow all posted signage.
The city said the relocation of County Road 606 marks another significant milestone in the airport expansion project, which is expected to enhance airport capacity and support continued economic growth for Enterprise and Coffee County.
City officials thanked residents, businesses and visitors for their patience and cooperation during construction and said they look forward to completing the remaining phases of the infrastructure project.
