DOTHAN, Ala. — A Dothan man was arrested after Houston County Sheriff’s Office investigators served an arrest warrant and later executed a search warrant at his residence, according to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said members of the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division served an arrest warrant on Steven Ike Sexton, 59, at his home in the 100 block of Village Lane on June 15.
While serving the warrant, investigators said they developed probable cause to seek a search warrant related to suspected narcotics activity. A search warrant was obtained and executed at the residence.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, investigators recovered marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, various THC products including gummies, wax, vape pens, moon rocks and edibles, along with drug paraphernalia.
Officials estimated the street value of the seized items at approximately $10,000.
Sexton was charged with first-degree possession of marijuana, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. He was also taken into custody on outstanding warrants.
Authorities said Sexton was booked into the Houston County Jail and is being held without bond due to the nature of the incident.
The investigation remains under the direction of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.
