DOTHAN, Ala. — Four members of the Dothan Area Special Olympics program will represent Alabama at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
According to Dothan Leisure Services, the games will be held June 19-26 and will bring together athletes from across the country to compete in one of the nation’s premier sporting events for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Held every four years, the Special Olympics USA Games serve as a national competition where athletes qualify through state and regional events to earn the opportunity to represent their home states on a national stage.
Representing the Dothan Area Special Olympics program and Team Alabama are Andrew Neve in swimming, Gabriella Baker in track and field, and Kayla Kelly and Gina Kelly, who will compete as partners in Unified Bocce.
Officials said the 2026 USA Games are expected to bring together more than 100,000 athletes, coaches, volunteers, family members and fans throughout Minnesota. The event will receive national exposure through major media partners, including ESPN, with television and streaming coverage planned.
Dothan Leisure Services extended special thanks to Toyota of Dothan for providing roundtrip transportation for the Dothan delegation traveling to Minnesota to compete in the games.
