SLOCOMB, AL (WDNews) – The beloved Slocomb Tomato Festival pageant has been canceled this year because of low participation, according to the festival’s Facebook page. The reigning queens will extend their reign for another year.

The current queens are encouraged to participate in the festivities by filling out a parade application, riding in the parade, and attending the opening ceremonies on June 29th. Despite the pageant’s cancellation, the festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of the community and its famous tomatoes.
