Methamphetamine Bust in Bonifay Traffic Stop

BONIFAY, Fla.(WDNews) – A routine traffic stop in Bonifay on May 26 led to significant drug arrests. A Holmes County deputy pulled over an older Dodge pickup truck for having no taillights and discovered methamphetamine during the search.

Ashley Carpenter, a passenger in the vehicle, was found with five baggies of methamphetamine hidden in her bra. This discovery came after the deputy detected the smell of marijuana, prompting a thorough search of the vehicle and its occupants.

The driver, Collin Slaughter, admitted that his driver’s license was not valid and took responsibility for the marijuana found inside the truck. He faces charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license. Carpenter is facing charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
