Southwest Alabama Community to Honor Drowned Teen with Balloon Release

THEODORE, Ala. (WDNews) – The family of Quamar Parker, the 16-year-old who tragically drowned last week, will hold a balloon release in his memory on Tuesday evening.

Quamar was last seen jumping off a bridge on Bellingrath Road over Cold Creek with friends on May 21. His body was recovered the following day by a Mobile County Sheriff’s Office dive team.

The balloon release will take place at the bridge on Bellingrath Road at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The community is invited to join Quamar’s family in celebrating his life and honoring his memory.
