Shots Fired in Abbeville: Two Arrested After SUV riddled with Bullet Holes

Crime Scene Do Not Cross Signage

Henry County – (WDNews) On May 18th at approximately 7:37 PM, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distressing call about shots fired on South Dale Court in Abbeville. Upon arrival, deputies discovered an SUV riddled with bullet holes. Witnesses reported seeing two young males shooting at the vehicle before fleeing the scene on foot.

A perimeter was quickly established, and K-9 units were deployed to track the suspects. Despite an extensive search, it was determined that the suspects had been picked up and transported to Dothan.

The Henry County Task Force took over the investigation, and by 5:00 PM today, they made two arrests. Sah’derik Marquise Mills, 18, of Abbeville, and a 16-year-old juvenile were both charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle. Mills and the juvenile are being held in the Henry County Jail without bond. The juvenile’s identity remains undisclosed in accordance with Alabama state law, despite being charged as an adult.

Sheriff Eric Blankenship commented, “We were very fortunate that no one was injured during this incident. Gun violence is on the rise throughout our country, but we are going to do everything we can to stop it here in Henry County. We are going to continue to take a proactive approach to suppressing these types of crimes in our community.”

Sheriff Blankenship also extended his gratitude to the Abbeville Police Department, Ventress Prison K-9 Unit, Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Dothan Police Department, and the Kinsey Police Department for their assistance in the case.
