Enterprise Mayor Proclaims Emergency Medical Services Week

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDNews) Mayor William E. Cooper has officially declared May 19-25, 2024, as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week in Enterprise. This proclamation honors the dedication and lifesaving efforts of EMS personnel who are on call 24/7 to assist those in need.

During a ceremony, Mayor Cooper, accompanied by members of the Enterprise Fire Department and Enterprise Rescue, highlighted the extensive training and education these professionals undergo. “These men and women commit thousands of hours annually to specialized training and continuing education, ensuring they are equipped to save lives,” Cooper said.

“Access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the suryival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden ilness or injury,’ Cooper said. “It is appropriate to recognize the value and the accomplishments of emergency medical services.”

The Enterprise Fire Department responded to 2,983 medical calls in 2023, underscoring the critical role of EMS in the community. This week serves as a reminder of their indispensable service and unwavering commitment to public health and safety.
