Dothan Civic Center Goes Cash-Free Starting June 1

Dothan – (WDNews) In a move to streamline operations and enhance customer experience, the Dothan Civic Center will transition to a cash-free environment for all events beginning June 1, 2024. This new initiative aims to align with current consumer transaction trends, covering all ticket sales, concessions, and bars within the venue.

The shift to a cash-free operation reflects the Civic Center’s commitment to providing a more efficient and secure environment for both guests and staff. With the increasing popularity of digital payment technologies and the decline in cash usage, the Civic Center has embraced a digital-first approach to transactions.

“Moving to a cash-free system allows us to process transactions much quicker, reducing the time our guests spend in line and giving them more time to enjoy the entertainment they came to see, said Clay Dempsy, the Director of the Dothan Civic Center. “This change also enhances our handling security measures by minimizing the risks associated with handling cash.

This change is expected to significantly reduce wait times, improve security, and ensure a smoother, more streamlined event experience for attendees. Starting June 1, all transactions at the Dothan Civic Center will need to be made using major credit and debit cards, or mobile payment services such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.

“We understand that this iS a significant change for our visitors, and we are committed to making this transition as seamless as possible,” added Dempsy. “Our staff will be on hand during events to assist guests with the new process.”
