Woman Attempts to Hide Under Clothing during Traffic Stop

Holmes County – (WDNews) Yesterday, on May 4th, 2024, a routine traffic stop conducted by a deputy from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) escalated into a significant arrest on HWY 81. The incident unfolded when the deputy approached a vehicle and encountered unexpected behavior from the driver, later identified as Kelly Marshall.

Upon the deputy’s approach, Marshall hastily exited the driver’s seat, leaping into the back of the vehicle in an attempt to conceal herself under clothing. This suspicious action immediately caught the attention of law enforcement.

Following swift detainment, both Marshall and her passenger, identified as Matthew Krimes, were subjected to a computer search. The search revealed outstanding warrants for both individuals, with Marshall additionally found to be lacking a valid driver’s license.

Further investigation led to a thorough search of the vehicle, yielding troubling discoveries. Inside the vehicle, authorities uncovered a methamphetamine pipe, drug paraphernalia, and a stash of cocaine.

As a result of these findings, Kelly Marshall faces a litany of charges, including possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting an officer without violence. Meanwhile, Matthew Krimes was arrested on the warrants previously issued against him.

This incident serves as a reminder of law enforcement’s ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug activity within our community.
