Major Drug Bust in Geneva County: Methamphetamine, Firearms, and Cash Seized

Geneva County – (WDNews) On April 26, 2024, at approximately 08:08 a.m., the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency – Region B Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force , in collaboration with the Geneva County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a targeted search on a residence along North State Highway 27 in the Chancellor Community of Geneva County.

The search, stemming from a joint narcotics investigation involving the ALEA-Region B ADETF, Geneva County Sheriff’s Office, and Macon County North Carolina Sheriff’s Office, resulted in the arrest of Tony Wayne Rodgers, the lone occupant of the residence.

Law enforcement officers seized a significant amount of illegal substances, including approximately 678 grams (1.5 lbs) of methamphetamine, marijuana, synthetics, and an unidentified substance. Additionally, they confiscated a cache of 27 firearms, a portable electronic device, U.S. currency, and various drug paraphernalia items indicative of illegal substance distribution.

Tony Wayne Rodgers was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Geneva County Jail.

The ALEA – Region B ADETF, comprising personnel from multiple law enforcement agencies including the ALEA – SBI (State Bureau of Investigation), Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, Covington County Sheriff’s Office, Dale County Sheriff’s Office, Enterprise Police Department, Eufaula Police Department, Geneva County Sheriff’s Office, Geneva Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Houston County Sheriff’s Office, and Opp Police Department, played a pivotal role in the successful operation.
