Alabama Woman Arrested for Sex Crimes Against Student

A traffic stop in Madison County led to the arrest of a Madison County Schools employee on charges of sex crimes against a 15-year-old student. Makayla Ann Anderton, 26, was pulled over by deputies on Saturday night. The minor was a passenger in the womans vehicle at the time.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Anderton had been engaging in inappropriate conversations with the victim, which escalated to exchanging explicit photos, videos, and text messages. The investigation revealed that Anderton and the victim had also met multiple times, engaging in various sexual acts. The inappropriate behavior had been happening for over 2 months.

On Saturday, April 20, Anderton was arrested by Major Crimes detectives and taken to the Madison County Jail Facility. She is facing charges that include distributing obscene material to a student, rape in the second degree, sodomy in the second degree, and engaging in a sex act with a student under the age of 19.
