Alabama – Man Arrested in Connection with Rape of Two Women at a Red Roof Inn

In a distressing incident south of Birmingham, Vestavia Hills police have apprehended a suspect linked to the rape of two women at a local hotel.

William Charles Wright, aged 23, faces serious charges, including two counts of first-degree sodomy, two counts of rape by force, and two counts of robbery.

The assaults occurred on Wednesday afternoon at a Red Roof Inn situated on Montgomery Highway. According to Vestavia Hills Police Captain Mike Keller, Wright forcibly entered the victims’ motel room, where he subjected them to assault and robbery at gunpoint. Authorities are uncertain whether the victims are acquainted with the suspect.

Following the harrowing ordeal, Wright fled the scene. However, investigators swiftly received a description of his vehicle.

On Saturday morning, Wright was apprehended and booked into the Jefferson County Jail. He is currently held without bond as legal proceedings ensue.
