Standoff Ends in Headland: Man Arrested After Shooting Incident

On Monday in Headland, a tense standoff with law enforcement concluded without incident , resulting in the arrest of one individual. According to reports Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship, deputies from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and Headland Police responded to reports of gunfire on Hollon Street around 4 p.m.

On arrival, authorities found a man firing shots into the air before barricading himself inside a residence. The standoff lasted approximately an hour and a half, during which time the individual’s emotional distress was noted by sources.

Fortunately, the situation was resolved without violence, and law enforcement successfully took the individual into custody shortly before 6 p.m. As of now, no charges have been announced.

The name of the man has not been released by police as of writing of this article.
